The Standardised Fixed-Term Lease Agreement states that the rent will probably be paid out regular monthly for the accommodation service provider (lessor) by NSFAS, on behalf on the lessee (NSFAS funded student), in accordance using the NSFAS conditions and terms for private accommodation suppliers’ participation on the student accommodation portal.

The NSFAS terms and conditions for private accommodation suppliers’ participation on the student accommodation portal also states that: "Where the NSFAS-funded nsfas application delay student is defunded as a consequence of an incorrect choice by NSFAS, the coed won't be liable for payment of any arrear rent on the accommodation service provider, up right until the day of being defunded."

NSFAS explained that where by the NSFAS-funded student chooses to continue occupying the leased premises, notwithstanding staying defunded by NSFAS, the scholar are going to be accountable for payment of lease on the lessor within the day of becoming defunded.
